Energy Assistance Programs from the Ohio Department of Development
Winters in Ohio tend to be long and cold. During a particularly long cold snap, or when the weather remains chilly for months on end, keeping you and your family warm means heating bills can get expensive.
If you are having trouble heating your home, the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD) offers several programs to help low-income Ohioans pay their utility bills and improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
ODOD offers:
- HEAP, the Home Energy Assistance Program
- HEAP Emergency, or E-HEAP Winter and Summer Crisis Programs
- Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP)
- Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP)
For more information, call ODOD toll-free at 1-800-282-0880 or visit their Web site.
