Celebrate the Year of the Dog Each dog sculpture is a unique work of art. Artists were challenged to produce a design that is inspired by their own interpretation of the dog as an object of art, many of which demonstrate a cultural reference. A Selection Committee consisting of local arts leaders chose the best designs from the submissions, which included more than 20 different artists. The chosen designs were presented in a Sponsorship Portfolio, from which sponsors choose the design they wanted to commission. Artists whose designs were selected for exhibition were paid a $550.00 honorarium upon completion of their uniquely designed work of art.
