Now a 9 year Cleveland transplant by way of Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Texas, Valerie Mayen has set her roots in midtown Cleveland where she lives and works in a converted studio loft.  Starting out primarily as a graphic designer and illustrator, Valerie quickly evolved into the fashion designer and illustrating hybrid she is today.  She creates her clothing, specializing in contemporary outerwear, under the private label of Yellowcake- the business that also encompasses her paintings and illustrations.  Known for her attention to detail, use of bold color and strong lines, Valerie and Yellowcake continue to build their brand and following.  

With a focus on sustainability and social responsibility, Yellowcake utilizes American made fabrics, is proudly locally made here in Cleveland and donates portions of their profits to the City Mission and other non- profits aimed at helping children and homeless men and women.

Valerie and her company hope to continue to make Cleveland their permanent home and become a staple of the city!
