Sylvia Masek graduated from Kent State University in 1996 earning a BFA in Visual Communication Design with a concentration in Illustration. After spending a few years in advertising and other parts of the design business, she found herself yearning to do more illustrating. In 2002, Masek’s studio, The Power of Whodo was born. From that moment, she found herself rejuvenated; striving to create art work that evokes a sense of childhood wonder and innocence. As a published children’s book illustrator, Masek enjoys making kids of all ages smile and she tries to work a little of that joy into every piece of art that she creates. In addition to creating work for previous St. Clair Superior public art projects she has also designed art for Guitarmania, Sparx in the City, Art Fur Animals Benefit, Flamingo Celebration at the Akron Zoo, and the House of Plastics.
